Stage I (age 6-8)
Complete Actor I Limit: 15

Your journey in Stage One at Oddfellows begins here. Have fun while learning the basics of acting through games, skits, stories and exercises designed to develop character, emotions, sequencing skills, trust and communication. This is a prerequisite for other Stage One classes and for the Stage One mini-production.

WINTER 2008

PUPPET THEATER

In this class we will build our own puppets and create a puppet show. The class will begin with the construction of puppets (socks and otherwise, simple puppet technique, and an exploration of storytelling through games and books. The class culminates with a puppet show of a fairytale or story.

spring 2008

The Imagination Factory:

Join us as we explore the worlds of our imagination, using “tools” from the actor’s “toolbox.” Students will learn “B.E.S.T.”--body, energy, shape, & time--the core tools for any actor! Using activities such as pantomime, repetition, games and imaginative explorations, this class is sure to be both fun and educational - an excellent follow-up to Complete Actor 1 and the mini-production!

Mini-Pro for Minis (Prerequisite: Complete Actor I)

PEGGY THE PINT-SIZED PIRATE

Poor Peggy is so small that she is always getting picked last for a crew—if at all. As Peggy watches the other pirates get the opportunity to ride the seas on the biggest ship ever to sail, Peggy begins to give up all hope of ever becoming a real pirate. Trouble on the sea, however, puts all of the pirates in danger, and Peggy must find it within herself to help her fellow pirates. Peggy may be small, but she has something much more valuable than size on her side. Come join this fast-paced adventure with pirates, captains, and monsters, and discover Peggy’s secret weapon!
