Complete Actor III

Complete Actor III Limit: 15

Whether you are an experienced actor or trying theater for the first time, this is the class for you. Through this class, you become a member of the Junior Rep Company, where you will develop your skills and prepare for a mainstage performance. Complete Actor 3 covers character, concentration, action, teamwork, voice, physical theater, improvisation and text work. This is a prerequisite for advanced classes and to perform in the Junior Rep mainstage production.

Acting Lab:

Are you ready to take the next step? Then the Acting Lab is for you! Students will build upon the skills learned in Complete Actor 3 by exploring classic and contemporary plays culminating in a memorized performance at the end of the class. Students will also have an introduction to advanced acting techniques, preparing them for future mainstage shows.

Introductory Playwriting: Monologues:

An introduction to the art of creating a monologue. The class begins with an exploration of character and voice and culminates in the creation and performance of your own original monologue

Young Jim Hawkins leads a simple life as an innkeeper’s son, until the arrival of pirates forces Jim on the adventure of a lifetime. Far from home and with the likes of the dreaded Long John Silver, Jim will seek buried treasure, adventure and the meaning of home. Join in the journey and become part of this adaptation, originally performed at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.

Rehearsals: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:30-6:30 pm, Jan. 8-March 4, plus extra rehearsals and possibly some late nights the week of March 2
