Neighborhood Troupes

The Neighborhood Troupes are important, ongoing programs of weekly, after-school theater classes for young residents of Middletown’s Maplewood Terrace and Chatham Court in Portland. Kids learn a variety of performing arts skills, often those which explore and celebrate minority cultures as well as issues that are pertinent to their lives. Projects last year, in addition to numerous field trips, included a mainstage production, Served Up Family Style, mini-productions, a Neighborhood Fiesta at Maplewood Terrace, a Neighborhood Festival at Chatham Court, and holiday parties.

Upcoming this season is a mainstage production by the Maplewood Terrace and Chatham Court Senior Troupes, field trips, and lots more. Specific schedules are distributed in the neighborhoods, or call the Playhouse at 860/347-6143 for more information.
