Wesleyan student interested in work-study?

  • After-School Teaching Assistants

    Assist in after-school arts programs with kids ages 6 - 14; coordinate Oddbridge activities with Middletown Public School kids, including preparing & serving snacks, helping with homework; lead games and other activities; assist professional teaching artists in classes in theater, dance, circus and visual arts; establish strong relationships with elementary & middle school youth.

    Hours: Weekdays, 3:30 - 6 pm and Saturdays, 8:45 am  - 1:30 pm

    Number needed: 5-8. Need 2-3 W/S students each weekday & 1 on Saturdays.

  • Administrative Assistants

    Assist in the office of a busy non-profit youth theater. Tasks will depend on skills - some creative, some more mundane. Book keeping, data entry, organizing, program evaluation, mailings, odd jobs as needed.

    Hours: Weekdays, 11 am - 4 pm

    Number needed: 1-2

  • Graphic Designer/Website Manager

    Design flyers, posters, mailings, etc as needed. Create signage around building. Keep website up to date and looking good; upgrade and improve website as agreed upon.

    Hours: 6 - 8 hours per week. As scheduled with staff.

    Number needed: 1

  • Technical Theater Assistant/Shop Manager

    Work with our technical director to organize and maintain theater, shop, prop and costume storage. Provide technical support for classes and productions. Maintain tools and equipment. Could use one person with more technical focus (carpentry, lighting, etc) and one focusing more on costumes and props.

    Hours: 6 - 8 hours per week, as scheduled with staff.

    Number needed: 1-2

  • Assistant to Program Manager/Publicity & Social Media Intern

    Work with Program Manager to market events through press, websites and social media. Assist Program Director with other tasks as needed.

    Hours: 5-6 hours per week, as scheduled with Program Director

  • Assistant to the Executive Artistic Director

    Work on special projects, fundraising, program development, event preparation and other tasks needed to assist Executive Artistic Director.

    Hours: 3 - 6 hours per week as scheduled with EAD.

    Number needed: 1

  • Neighborhood Troupes Assistants

    Work as  part of a team to plan and carry out weekly theater and dance troupes at Traverse Square and Maplewood Terrace. 

    Hours: 4 - 6 hours per week, late afternoons/evenings

    Number needed: 4

  • Costume Shop Manager

    Manage and upkeep Oddfellows’ collection of costumes and props, including keeping the collections organized, managing loans and returns, and working with Costumers and Directors to help navigate the collections.

    Hours: 3 - 5 hours per week

    Number needed: 1

  • Assistant to the Managing Director

    Work with the Playhouse’s Managing Director on various elements of office management, including basic bookkeeping, maintenance of records, accounts receivable and payable, filing, financial aid requests, fundraising etc. A great opportunity for someone looking to get involved in non-profit arts management.

    Hours: 5 - 7 hours per week as scheduled with MD
