Ethan spent fourteen years as the theatre director at Platt High School in Meriden, where he directed over 35 productions. He holds a Masters in Theatre Production and Design from Southern Oregon University, where he also studied puppetry and stage combat, and he studied Shakespearean performance as a scholar-in-residence at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London. His on stage performance credits include Collective Consciousness Theatre, Bridgeport Theatre Company, and Castle Craig Theatre. His work has been selected to represent CT in the New England Drama Festival, and he has received the Distinguished Service Award from the CT Drama Association.
