Junior Repertory Company

What is the

Junior Repertory Company?

The Junior Repertory Company is our performance ensemble for ages 12 - 14. The Junior Rep stages a main stage production each winter, providing middle school age actors access to classic and contemporary plays as well as original work. Recent Junior Rep productions include Coraline; Lord of the Flies; The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; Alice in Wonderland; an original virtual spoken word performance called Welcome To Our Room; and Carlo Gozzi's classic comedy The Love of Three Oranges. During the fall and spring sessions the Junior Rep focuses on actor training, improv, and specialized topics like physical comedy, stage combat or scene study.

Oddfellows Playhouse Junior Repertory Company is staging E.B. White's classic story Charlotte’s Web.

Charlotte’s Web follows Wilbur, a runty spring pig facing an uncertain future, and Charlotte, the spider who befriends him and works to save his life, proving that even the smallest voice can make a difference. At its heart, Charlotte’s Web is a story about friendship. Wilbur and Charlotte don’t look alike, don’t live alike, and certainly don’t think alike, and yet they choose each other. Through them, we see that kindness isn’t just a feeling. It’s something you do. It lives in the words we choose and in the strength it takes to stand beside a friend. As the animals in Zuckerman’s Barn begin to see one another differently, we begin to understand that compassion builds community, that loving deeply carries the risk of loss, and that life is measured not by its length, but by how we show up for one another.

Directed by Dan Schmidt, Charlotte’s Web features scenic design by Annalisa Correia, costume design by Chenoa Albertson, lighting design by Aaron Westcott, sound design by Joseph Getter, properties design by Pam Lang, and technical direction by Mia Moore. The stage adaptation was written by Joseph Robinette.

Performances will be at 7pm on March 12  -14, with a 2pm matinee performance on Saturday, March 14. Tickets for Charlotte’s Web are $20 for adults and $12 for students, with a “Pay-What-You-Can” preview on Thursday, March 12. “Big Heart” tickets for $25 are available for anyone wanting to support Oddfellows’ work with young people, the arts and social justice.
