T'challa is an award-winning creative advocate born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut. From Gifted & Talented to professional training to majoring in Theater at Eastern Connecticut State University, the stage is where she perfects her craft. As a facilitator for the New York Writers Coalition as well as their Black Writers Program, her writing workshops incorporate all facets of literature and art to inspire writers to find their voice as they tell stories through character experience. In addition to teaching adults, T'challa has taught poetry, and advocacy to middle school students as well as teaching preschool students for religious organizations. Her poetry is fiercely potent and speaks with vigorous authority about the current times. T’challa does it for Craft & Culture as a Poet, Actress, and performer. She is a Bestselling Author, and Executive Co-Founder of the literary organization Hartford’s L.I.T., which celebrates their sixth year bringing the Hartford Book Festival to the Greater Hartford Community. She is committed to exercise her gifts for Literary Art. T’challa has been a board member with the Greater Hartford Arts Council since 2021. As winner of the 2021 100 Women of Color Award, 2023 Hartford Public Schools Impact Award, and 2024 I Am Woman Award recipient, she consistently gives her voice to her community and her fight to their cause. She is excited to take her decades of performing experience as a catalyst to fueling future writers, poets and performers.
